Short Biography
Anthea Bush completed her BA Honours in Fine Art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK and in 1997 at the De Ateliers, Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
She has been nominated for a number of prizes, she received an honourable mention by the curator Carter Foster, for drawing at the Whitney Museum in 2008 during the 22nd International Juried Show. She was selected for the ‘Valcellina Award’ in Italy and was voted into an exhibition of top ten international artists at the Saatchi Online gallery. She was also nominated for the 12e Van Bommel Van Dam Prijs in the Netherlands in 2004.
She has exhibited in the UK, US, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland and Germany in solo and group shows. Her solo exhibitions include ‘The Hub’, the National Centre for Craft and Design in the UK in 2009. Group exhibitions include The Visual Arts Centre of New Jersey in the US and the Museum Van Bommel van Dam in the Netherlands.

2015-2020 AirWG – Artist in Residency Amsterdam. Coordinator and Board member: involved in the setup and maintenance of an international residency programme for the visual arts. Tasks include: coordinator, social media and website, organising exhibitions, selecting artists, studio visits, funding applications etc.
